10 Nigerians Set To Feature In The 2024/2025 English Premier League Season

As the 2024/2025 English Premier League starts today with the opener encounter between Manchester United and Fulham,here are ten Nigerians expected to be in action for their various clubs.
1.Alex Iwobi (Fulham)
Alex Iwobi joined Fulham last season from Everton.
He made 30 appearances for Fulham and scored 5 goals.
One of the five goals was at old Trafford when he netted in the away win over Manchester United.
He has been on superlative form lately,he bagged two assists in the Pre-season friendly win over German side Hoffenheim last week.
He is expected to be in action in the opener against Manchester United today.
2.Calvin Bassey(Fulham)
Iwobi’s compatriot Calvin Bassey also joined Fulham from Ajax last season.
He made 29 appearances and netted once.
He is expected to be key to Fulham’s premier league survival this season.
3.Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest)
Awoniyi spent most of his time at treatment room last season after he suffered varying degrees of injuries.
He made 20 appearances for Nottingham Forest and scored 6 goals.
He also had three assists to his name.
He featured in Nottingham Forest’s Pre-season friendly win over Greek side Olympiacos recently.
He is expected to be in action against Bournemouth on Saturday.
4.Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest)
Super Eagles defender Ola Aina made 20 appearances for Forest last season.
He was on target once and had once assist
He was instrumental to Forest Premier League survival last season.
He is expected to be key for Forest again this season.
5.Emmanuel Dennis (Nottingham Forest)
Emmanuel Dennis spent last season on loan at Watford FC.
He made 17 appearances and scored 4 goals.
It remains to be seen whether he will be loaned out again or stay.
6.Joe Aribo(Southampton)
Super Eagles Midfielder Aribo helped Southampton to be promoted back to Premier League after suffering relegation the following season.
He made 38 appearances for Soton and netted four times.
He has featured in all Southampton’s Pre-season friendly games so far.
He is expected to be action against Newcastle united on Saturday.
7.Paul Onuachu (Southampton)
Paul Onuachu spent last season on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor.
He netted 17 times and had four assists.
He has returned back to his parent club.
But he might be loaned back to Trabzonspor for another season.
8.Frank Onyeka (Brentford)
Super Eagles energetic midfielder Onyeka was one of the key players for Brentford last season.
He made 26 appearances and scored once.
He is expected to be key for Brentford again this season.
9.Frederick Benjamin (Brentford)
Benjamin recently joined Brentford from Simoiben Football Academy, Kaduna State to the club and signed four-year deal with the English side.
Although he is yet to make EPL debut but he featured in Brentford’s recent friendlies against Benfica and Wimbledon FC.
He might make his EPL debut against Crystal Palace tomorrow
10.Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City).
Wilfred Ndidi is again back to EPL with Leicester City after spending last season in the second tier of English football.
The defensive midfielder recently penned a new three-year contract with the Foxes last month.
The 27-year-old’s previous contract expired at the end of June.
Ndidi has registered 17 goals and 17 assists in 273 appearances for the former Premier League champions
