Emiloju FC has been drawn to face Ighalo FC in the Group C of 2024 1XBET Cup.
Other teams in Group C are Young Strikers FC,Emanjuls and Ikorodu Eagles
The chairman of Emiloju FC Alhaji Musiliu Jimoh Alao said he believes his team will win the group.
He commended Tournament Director, former Nigeria international, Waidi Akanni for putting up a top-notch organization
According to Akanni, the competition will kick off at the Legacy Pitch in Surulere, Lagos on Monday, August 5 and that week’s schedule will end on Wednesday, August 7.
He added that the group stage matches will be played for six weeks in the order of Monday to Wednesday.
The winner of each group qualifies for the knockout stage while the second and third teams in each group will meet each other in a play off.
The playoff matches will thereafter produce four teams who will then proceed to the quarter-finals alongside the four group winners, making a total of eight teams.
Akanni added that the final game of the 1XBET Cup 2024 will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on September 25 with the champions guaranteed a prize money of N20m while they will also be sponsored on a trip abroad.
