The President of Ex-Iwuanyanwu Nationale worldwide Mr Isaac Mbika on behalf of the association has showered encomium on the Executive Governor of Imo state His Excellency distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for appointing Honourable Evarestus Obinna Onyeocha (Onowu) as the Imo state Commissioner for Sports in his second tenure, the Statesman Newspaper sports desk can exclusively report.
The former Transition Committee Chairman of Orlu was among the 24 Commissioners sworn in on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the New Executive Council Chamber, Government House Owerri.
The former Chief Security of Orlu with other Commissioners and Special Advisers will constitute members of the new expanded Executive Council as the second term of His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma serves off the ground with full gear.
Mbika revealed to the statesman newspaper correspondent that Onyeocha’s appointment by the Governor is laudable and should be celebrated because he (Onyeocha) is a round peg in a round hole and for this reasons, the association will partner with the ministry of youths and sports and also ministry of education, ahead of the secondary school football competition
“The appointment of Hon Onyeocha should be applauded and celebrated because he is a round peg in a round hole, the right man for the job and that is why we celebrate the wisdom of His Excellency for this appointment.
‘Taking cognizance of his track records, i am confident that he will deliver and that is why the Ex-Iwuanyanwu nationale worldwide will like to partner with the Imo state ministry of sports and also ministry of Education for the forth coming Inter secondary School competition in the state which is designed to catch them young, foster youth development and also reduce crime through sports“ Mbika said
Onyeocha’s appointment is coming at an auspicious time when preparations for the Imo state inter secondary school football tournament is about to hit top gear.
