Looming Relegation:Major Shake-up Hits Sunshine Stars As General Coordinator Position Scrapped,Team Manager Redeployed

As part of the restructuring currently ongoing at the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) to engender proper performance, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye has scrapped the position of General Coordinator currently held by Tokunbo Akinyelure.

 

 

Akinyelure, According to Yusuf-Ogunleye Ogunleye is to take over the position of Team Manager from Seun Betiku with immediate effect.

 

 

The former team manager of the club and the General Coordinator of the two teams Mr Tokunbo Akinyelure has been redeployed to Sunshine Stars as team manager and should also serve as Welfare officer of the team at the same time.

 

 

Betiku has been redeployed to head the feeder team of Sunshine Stars (U-17), having had a stint as TM of Rising Stars which served the same purpose as the feeder team back then.

 

 

Also, the club’s secretary Mr Ayo Adewumi, a senior staff of the Ministry of Information will now be re-assigned as acting press officer of the agency, while Mr Alex Daodu is now the Acting Secretary of the club.

 

The Head Coach of the Sunshine Queens, Oladimeji Abimbola is re-assigned as Technical Director of Sunshine Stars U-17, While Coach Ale has been redeployed d to Sunshine Stars Under 17 as Assistant Coach.

 

Coach Rafiu Oseni is now the new coach of Sunshine Queens and will be assisted by coach Nike Adekunle as earlier announced, while former team captain of Sunshine Queens, Odunayo Adejoro is now Assistant Coach 2

 

Also, the commissioner frowned at the issue of increasing numbers of hoodlums at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, adding that the committee will put in place measures to curb their excessiveness.

 

These changes are with immediate effect.

 

“I want to appeal to the good people of Ondo State to keep hope alive with us as we embark on repositioning our teams for better performance. This is the period we need your prayers and support,” he concluded.
