Rivers United who won the reverse fixture in Nigeria last week by a lone goal suffered a 2-0 defeat in Algeria last night.
Abdoulaye Kanou’s two goals were enough for the Algerian to progress to the semi-final stage.
Rivers United will now shift attention to Nigeria premier league.
