2026 World Cup Qualifier: Benin To Host Super Eagles In Cote d’Ivoire

The Super Eagles will face neighbours, Benin Republic in a 2026 World Cup qualifier at one of the stadiums used for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) ruled this week that stadiums in Benin Republic are sub-standard.
Benin Republic must now pick a venue outside their country
Football authorities in the country are already in talks with the Ivorian Football Federation to use of their stadiums.
The next round of World Cup qualifier will be played between June 3 and 11.
Nigeria will host the Bafana Bafana of South Africa before facing the Squirrels
The Super Eagles are third in their qualifying group with two points after two rounds of matches, while Benin, who are handled by former Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr, have a point.
Rwanda, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Lesotho are the other teams in this group.
