The Flying Eagles of Nigeria suffered a shocking elimination from the ongoing 2024 All African Games (AAG).

The Flying Eagles got beaten by Senegal U-20 the reigning and defending African champions.

Isah Ladan Bosso and his team needed just only a draw to be able to secure a semi-final finish at the All African Games. Of course that would have presented them with the opportunity of trying to win its first ever gold at the competition in over two decades.

The Flying Eagles took the lead in the first half through a Charles Agada’s strike. And when Nigerians and their supporters were about to jubilate, the Senegalese cubs restored parity through Gueye.

Sadly, the Senegalese cubs took the lead with just two minutes before the half-hour mark. They held their positions and went into the break as the leaders.

However, the Flying Eagles were quick to restore parity into the second period, but also gave the lead away fifteen minutes after, as the African champions reclaimed the lead.

Senegal was however, reduced to ten men late into the second half(stoppage time), but the Flying Eagles failed to capitalise on the advantage and make a difference.

It was indeed a sad outing for Bosso and his boys. But they take away the positives from the tournament, and hope to work on the mistakes while preparing for a bigger competition.
