The head coach of the Ibadan-based professional football club, Adeyemi FC, Kolawole Emmanuel, also known as “Coach Drey” advocates for providing a secure future for promising young footballers across Nigeria by establishing platforms for their development.
During a brief conversation with the team’s media crew, Coach Drey emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for young players to thrive.
“As a former footballer myself, I understand the significance of having a platform to pursue my goals. At Adeyemi Football Club, we are committed to building a solid foundation for the next generation,” he stated.
The Osun native stressed the benefits of nurturing footballers from a young age, citing its positive impact on their confidence and skills in the sport.
Coach Drey urged sports stakeholders nationwide to address issues affecting the game, such as poor officiating and inadequate facilities.
He advised young players to heed their coaches’ instructions, maintain focus, and exhibit determination, underscoring the importance of character in complementing talent.
Regarding Adeyemi Football Club’s activities, Coach Drey assured football enthusiasts of the team’s commitment to excellence in the sport. He highlighted the club’s participation in the ongoing Ibadan Football Council (IFC) league and their upcoming involvement in the 2024 Oyo FA Federation Cup in Ibadan.
Coach Drey also praised the club’s president, Mr. Abiodun Adeyemi, for his unwavering support in facilitating the team’s success.
