Ebenezer Akinsanmiro yesterday made his Serie A debut for Inter Milan, becoming the sixth Nigerian to play for the Nerrazurri in the Italian top flight after Kanu Nwankwo, Taribo West, Obafemi Martins, Obiora Nwankwo, and Victor Moses.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder played the last 14 minutes for Inter Milan as a 76th-minute replacement for Davide Frattesi in a 4-0 win over Lecce in a Serie A game week 26 fixture at Stadio Ettore Giardiniero, Via del Mare, Lecce.

The breakthrough came almost one year after Akinsanmiro made his first team debut as an unused substitute on May 24, 2023, as Inter Milan won its ninth Coppa Italia title.

Akinsanmiro started playing professionally for the Remo Stars in 2020. He was part of the team that qualified the club to move from the Nigeria National League to the Nigeria Premier Football League in the 2020–2021 season.

On January 31, 2023, Inter Milan signed him on a four-year contract
