Nigeria To Face South Africa At The AFCON Semi-final

The Super Eagles will take on Bafana Bafana of South Africa Wednesday for a place in the final of the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
Kick-off time is 6pm at the Stade de la Paix in the northern town of Bouake.
South Africa outscored Cape Verde 2-1 on penalties after both teams could not be separated after extra time.
South Africa captain and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams was the hero after he saved four penalty kicks in the shootout.
He was the deserved CAF Man of the Match.
Wednesday’s clash between Nigeria and South Africa will take on added significance as both teams are drawn in the same qualifying group for the 2026 World Cup.
The Super Eagles welcome Bafana Bafana to Uyo in June in continuation of the World Cup qualifiers.
It is the AFCON semifinal that Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has looked forward to as he plays his football in South Africa with Chippa United.
The other semifinal will be between hosts Cote d’Ivoire and DR Congo in Abidjan.
This will begin at 9pm.
