A new sports project, Padel Tennis, is set to make its debut in Osun State, offering sports enthusiasts a unique and thrilling experience.

Mr. Olusola Alabi, the media and publicity manager for the project, known as Ijobasports, highlighted the innovative nature of this venture, emphasizing its distinction as the first of its kind in West Africa and Africa at large.

Padel Tennis, described as a smaller court sport, features dimensions of 44 feet in length and 20 feet in width, with a playing area measuring 60 feet by 30 feet. Surrounded by a 12-feet high wired fence, the court introduces an intriguing dynamic as the ball bounces off the court.

Mr. Alabi elaborated on the sport’s appeal, noting that Padel Tennis is poised to captivate Nigerian sports enthusiasts by offering a unique and exciting experience. The court, designed for four players, is approximately 25% smaller than a standard tennis court, creating a fast-paced game ideal for doubles play.

Expressing gratitude for the initiative, Mr. Alabi called upon sports stakeholders in Osun State to rally behind the project and embrace this novel addition to the sporting landscape. Additionally, the project teams are set to engage with the Osun State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) to establish collaborative partnerships and relationships.”
